Unlike most people I love the winter season. It lets me wear the 1,000+ sweaters I have in my closet, indulge in endless cups of hot chocolate, and gives me an excuse to embrace my love of hygge. But, winter comes at a price. It wreaks havoc on my skin and I have to up my skincare routine to keep my skin from turning into a flaky mess. For those of you who also have dry skin or are just skin care junkies, I’ve partnered with Re:Beauty and am sharing my hydrating winter skincare routine.
Step 1 – Cleanse
Your skin hydrates best while sleeping – so my moisturizing efforts are focused around bedtime. I first start with Re:Beauty’s Gentle Creamy Cleanser to take off my makeup from the day. I always cleanse with a cream base since using foam or other products leave my skin feeling dry and tight. With Re:Beauty my skin feels a little more supple after washing. Plus the scent is understated and almost spicy if that makes any sense. I love it.
Step 2 – Exfoliate
Every three days I will use the Fresh Sugar Face Polish to exfoliate my face. You’re not supposed to exfoliate every day so I use it sparingly. I discovered it last year and am still obsessed.
Step 3 – Serum
After exfoliating I apply a hydrating serum. My facialist recommended Le Mieux Derma Relief Serum and I love it because it absorbs so quickly into my skin. There’s no scent and have been using this serum for the last two years. Plus I’m a sucker for beautiful packing and love the small amber glass bottle it comes in – it has that vintage vibe I love!
Step 4 – Moisturize
Aromatica’s Rose Absolute Vital Cream is no joke. It is a thick, rose scented cream that has the consistency of custard. My skin drinks it up! It might be too heavy for some, but if you need some hydration use this.
Step 5 – Mask!
For an overnight mask I’ve been loving Re:Beauty’s Moisturizing Overnight Mask with Re:vitaplex. It has this beautiful purple color and is so thick that each time I open the jar it settles to a perfectly smooth consistency. I apply some on my face and go to sleep with it. When I wake up in the morning my face feels like it does after a facial – hydrated, smooth, and soft. It’s utterly fantastic.
Step 6 – Body
Most of my skincare focuses on my face and décolletage, but you can’t forget to moisturize the rest of your body! I use Hַ&B Dead Sea Powerful Cream Olive Oil and Honey because I love the smell. I got a massage a few years ago, and this was the product they used on my arms and legs and I was hooked!
So that’s what I’m using to stay hydrated – if you need any tips or have products to recommend I’m all ears 🙂 Let me know in the comments below!
