I really love crafting. For me there’s no better way to unwind and relieve some stress by busying my mind and creating something with my hands. That’s why when I found Indigo & Violet Studio on Instagram, I wasted no time reaching out to the shop to learn more about the space.
The Shop
Located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, Indio & Violet Studio was founded by Leigh Hardy in 2017. With a background in interior design, Leigh founded the studio to establish a creative space where fellow crafters can come to indulge in their DIY passions. Since its founding, the shop is a collaborative event space that hosts workshops were you can make goodies like:
- a DIY Summer Beach Hat
- DIY Dog Signs
- Shibori Tea Towels
- Teacup Succulents
The Workshop
Leigh was generous enough to invite me to one of her specialties, a Crafternoon Tea Summer Wreath Happy Hour event so I could explore the space and learn more about the shop. Leigh frequently partners with other local businesses and this event was in partnership with Kith + Kin, a tea event business owned by Romy Pereira. You all know my love for tea so of course I had to say yes to this event.
Let me tell you it was SO much fun. The event was led by Leigh and Romy (of Kith + Kin). Leigh led the event with her wreath expertise and Romy added a bit of glamor and luxury with her fabulous tea sets and tasty pastries. We spent the evening sipping on vanilla earl grey tea, eating pastries, and creating summer wreaths out of silk flowers and embroidery hoops.
