I’m turning thirty this week. Omg thirty! When women talk about thirty, everyone always tells me this is the decade when you really start to see changes in your skin. Well, I’ve been skin conscious from a really young age and have always worn sun screen and focused on anti aging products. So I guess my thirties is when I’m going to see if this worked or not !
Over the past few months, I’ve done some more skincare research and added a few extra steps to my routine to keep my skin as hydrated and clear as possible. I’ve seen some real improvements so am sharing my new routine below for my fellow skin care junkies.
MORNING
Step One – Rinse
To help wake me up I’ve just been rinsing my face with cold water.
Step Two – Serum
I use the Paula’s Choice Super Antioxidant Serum. I’ve been using this morning and night for years – I haven’t found anything better. Its not too oily and blends in quickly.
Step Three – Sunscreen & Moisturize
I mix two products for my final morning skin prep. I take Paula’s Choice Calm Redness Relief SPF 30 Mineral Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin and mix in a few drops of the Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil.
EVENING
Step One – Cleanse
Cleanse with Korres Greek Yogurt Foaming Cream Cleanser. This is hydrating and does not make my skin feel tight after using.
Step Two – Tone
I use Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera Rose Petal to tone and remove any makeup missed by my cleanser. I usually have to focus around my eyes since that’ where I wear the most makeup.
Step Three – Exfoliate
I’ve recently incorporated Paula’s Choice 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant into my night time routine. Exfoliating is huge for anti aging so I’ve started doing this daily with this gentler chemical exfoliator.
Once or twice a week I’ll use the Fresh Sugar Face Polish for a little extra smoothness.
Step Four – Serum
I use the same Paula’s Choice Super Antioxidant Serum that I use in the morning – like I said, I love this stuff.
Step Five – Eye Cream
The Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream is another new step to the routine. This stuff is amazing and also has a cooling effect that I love for under the eye area. Even better is that the Biossance line is a clean beauty brand !
Step Six – Moisturize / Retinol
For years I’ve been looking for the perfect moisturizer. I have a few that I like but nothing that I was super crazy about. That was until I found the Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream. It’s perfect – and it’s a nice heavy moisturizer which is what I personally look for.
Every other day I’ll use a Paula’s Choice Resist Intensive Repair Cream with Retinol. If your goal is to prevent wrinkles, then a retinol must be in your skincare routine. I love this one because its one of the few retinol products that doesn’t dry out my skin.
Masks
I don’t use them every night – but if I’m needing extra moisture I love using the Fresh Rose Face Mask or a sheet mask of some sort.
Shop My Skincare
So that’s it! I still throw in a few new products here in there since I love to try stuff but these are my core! If youre’ looking to change up your routine or beef it up – I 100% recommend each of these products. Let’s hope they treat my 30 year old skin well!
